In view of the heavy inflows into the twin reservoirs, the HMWSSB issued a flood warning alert for Osmansagar and Himayathsagar on Wednesday afternoon.

Due to the increase in inflows and rainfall forecast in both catchment areas, there is a probability that the releases may be increased this evening, according to an official release issued by the HMWSSB.

Though the inflows are constant to the twin reservoirs for the past one week, from Wednesday morning hours, the inflows have been increasing sharply, a senior HMWSSB official told Telangana



Today.

The HMWSSB released fresh inflows of the twin reservoirs recorded at 5 pm.

Twin reservoirs water levels at 5 pm:

Osmansagar: FTL: 1790.00 Feet(3.900 TMC)
Present level: 1789.25 feet (3.728 TMC)

Inflows: 3,000
Outflow: 234 Cusecs
Gates: 2 Gates opened to a height of 1 foot

Himayathsagar: FTL: 1763.50 Feet(2.970 TMC)
Present level: 1762.80 (2.753 TMC)

Inflows: 1,100 Cusecs
Outflow: 339 Cusecs
Gates: 1 Gate opened to a height of 1 foot
