Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) have jointly decided to resolve sewage problems in the Amberpet Assembly Constituency, where residents of the nala catchment area in Amberpet, Patel Nagar and Golnaka faced hardships during the rainy season.

HMWSSB managing director K Ashok Reddy and GHMC Commissioner R V Karnan inspected problematic areas along with Amberpet MLA Kaleru Venkatesh on Wednesday.

A press release said that

ongoing road widening and nala expansion works undertaken by the GHMC Projects Division caused damage to the small drains of GHMC and sewerage lines of HMWSSB led to the sewage problem.

The local MLA made a plea to the GHMC and HMWSSB to resolve, to a certain extent, if a new stormwater drain was constructed through Police Grounds.

The Interception & Diversion (ID) system in the area was inspected, and it was identified that sewage flows were properly connected to the Sewerage Treatment Plan (STP).
