The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) is planning to construct a 3-km four-lane elevated corridor from Banjara Hills to the PVNR Expressway near Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital in Mehdipatnam to cut congestion and speed up airport connectivity.

This mega project is being designed to start from GVK One Mall in Banjara Hills and connect to the PVNR Expressway in Mehdipatnam via Masab Tank.

Along with five ramps on this route, a four-lane underpass has been proposed at Masab

Tank junction to eliminate traffic snarls. Officials plan to submit the DPR to the government after surveys by the consultancy are completed and aim to finish the project within two years.

The proposed corridor aims to create a seamless route to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport while decongesting key junctions, including Masab Tank, Lakdikapul, Khairatabad, and Somajiguda.

The elevated stretch will reduce peak-hour travel time to the airport and ease pressure on surface roads in central Hyderabad.
