Home Minister Mohd Mahmood Ali hit out at the Opposition parties for their remarks over the damage to religious structures in the State Secretariat complex during the demolition of old buildings. He termed the statements by the Opposition parties as meaningless in the wake of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao announcing his plans to build better and bigger temple and also a mosque on the new Secretariat premises.

He pointed out that the Chief Minister has promised to inaugurate the new integrated Secretariat building complex only after offering prayers at both the temple and the mosque to be constructed inside the new Secretariat complex. “The Opposition leaders are making unnecessary propaganda on the issue as they do not have any other issue to criticise the State

government. They want to remain blind to the development taken up by the government in the last six years,” he said.

In a statement, the Home Minister said Chandrashekhar Rao was a secular leader who was working for the welfare of people from all religions in the State.

“For him who is developing the Yadadri temple on such a massive scale, constructing a new temple and a new mosque inside the Secretariat complex will not be a big issue. People of Telangana State have their faith in the commitment of the TRS government especially Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao and was confident that the malicious intentions of the Opposition leaders will be uncovered by people of the State,” he said.
