Telangana legislators and former legislators are all set to get hike in their salaries and pension if the Amenities Committee recommendations are approved by the Government. The Amenities Committee which met here at committee hall during lunch hour today has suggested a steep hike in salaries to legislators, to Rs 3.5 lakh from Rs 1.25 lakh per month.


Speaker S Madhusudhan Chary, Council Chairman Swamy Goud, Ministers T Harish Rao, E Rajender and floor leaders of all other parties, attended the meeting. The meeting after discussion has recommended increasing vehicle loans to Rs 40 lakhs from Rs 25 lakhs, and making effective the pensions to the spouses of the legislators after the latter’s death. Besides a rise in the pension to Rs 65,000 from Rs 50,000 per month to the former legislators, the committee recommended provision of health facilities without any cap on financial expenditure.
