The High Court on Monday postponed the hearing on the conduct of local body elections as the Chief Justice was on leave.
The next hearing is likely to be held on Tuesday, reports said.
The petitioners had approached the court seeking directions for the conduct of local body elections, which have been pending
for the last 18 months.
State government informed the court that it was prepared to hold the elections.
It has already issued guidelines for finalising reservations for wards and panchayats and the exercise has been completed in the districts. The official gazette on reservations is expected to be released today.
