City Mayor Bonthu Rammohan on Sunday called upon the people to cooprate with the officials to make Hyderabad the cleanest city in the country. The Mayor, along with others, participated in ‘Swachh Bharat’ programme at Gopannapally tanda on Sunday. GHMC organised ‘Maha Shramdan’ programme to create awareness on sanitation and its importance. “We have taken various steps, including solid waste management, as no city in the country was using this kind of management,” he said, adding that 2,000 auto-trolleys were distributed to collect garbage besides distribution of 44 lakh



dustbins for segregation of wet and dry garbage. 
Transport Minister Mahender Reddy said the State government was taking various measures to provide drinking water to the people living on the city outskirts and drinking water would be provided to every household in next two years. Swachhta Abhiyan (sanitation) was taken from the gate of Hyderabad, Central University, to Gopannapalli tanda. Students, members of NGOs, NCC cadets and public participated in the Swachhta Abhiyan. Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin, MP Konda Vishveshwar Redy, MLA A Gandhi and others participated.
