Several districts in Telangana have been witnessing heavy to very heavy rainfall over the past three days, with Jagtial among the worst affected.
Continuous rain since Tuesday night has inundated several low-lying areas of Jagtial town.
The Anataram bridge was submerged due to rising floodwaters, disrupting traffic between Jagtial and Dharmapuri. Several cars and two-wheelers were also
submerged in different parts of the district.
Jagtial recorded up to 200 mm of rainfall, triggering severe flooding. The Neredla–Dharmapuri road was washed away, bringing vehicular movement to a standstill. Jagtial Municipal Commissioner Satya Pranav reviewed the flood situation and directed officials to expedite rescue and relief operations. He appealed to residents to remain indoors and venture out only in emergencies.
