Even as the southwest monsoon is inching close for a withdrawal over the State, heavy rains accompanied with thunders and lightning, lashed the city on Friday.

Though the weather conditions in the city since morning remained bright and sunny, rains in spells started to lash different parts of the city and suburbs.
 
Till 6 pm, Asifnagar recorded a rainfall of 19.5 mm, followed by Shaikpet (19 mm), Gudimalkapur (15.8 mm) and Mehdipatnam (15 mm), according to Telangana State Development Planning

The associated cyclonic circulation which extends to mid-tropospheric level is expected to concentrate into a depression over central Bay of Bengal during next 24 hours. It is expected to move west-north-westwards and cross north Andhra Pradesh, the weather department said. Under its influence, enhanced rainfall activity is expected over the state from October 10 to 12.

The weather warning with Meteorological Department, Hyderabad indicated heavy to very heavy rain very likely at isolated places over the State in the next four days.
