Following a heavy rainfall forecast by the Telangana Development Planning Society, educational institutions and Anganwadi centres in Nirmal, Adilabad and Kumram Bheem Asifabad districts remained closed on Thursday.

Collectors Abhilasha Abhinav, Rajarshi Shah and Venkatesh Dothre issued separate statements in the three districts declaring a holiday for schools, colleges and Anganwadi centres considering



the weather warnings. They also urged the public to remain cautious of flooding and avoid venturing outdoors unless necessary.

Abhilasha said victims of the rains could report grievances to the control room at 91005 77132 set up at the Integrated District Officers Complex. She added that Reserve Force, TSSP Battalion and NDRF teams were on standby to tackle floods and evacuate people to safer places.
