Overnight rains continued to lash Vikarabad district on Thursday morning, disrupting normal life. Agricultural fields were submerged, an under-construction temporary bridge was washed away, disrupting traffic, while rivulets and streams flowed in spate.
At Madgul Chittampally, the temporary bridge being constructed on the Vikarabad-Parigi road was washed away. Traffic on the route has been suspended, forcing
commuters to take alternative routes.
Following complaints from residents, officials initiated precautionary measures and repair works. In several areas, agricultural fields remained submerged, causing losses to farmers.
At Tandur, the Kagna rivulet, a tributary of the Bheema River, flowed in spate, with water overflowing the check dam due to heavy rainfall in the upstream catchment areas.
