Rains that have been lashing the city for the last five days brought several areas to a standstill with roads turning into pools on Monday as well.

Several low-lying areas were inundated due to the heavy rainfall on Sunday and Monday afternoon, while many stretches reported waterlogging, forcing motorists to wade through muddy waters at several points.

Traffic chaos was widespread right from Monday morning, with videos of flooded roads in areas such as Borabanda being shared widely on social media. The short but intense spells of rain left local markets in Kothaguda and Kondapur under sheets of water.

According to the Telangana State Development Planning Society, Rajendranagar received the highest rainfall of 51.8 mm till 5 pm on Monday, followed by Mehdipatnam (38.5 mm), Golkonda (36.7 mm) and Mothinagar (36.3 mm).
