With the celebration of Eid al-Fitr festival fast approaching, markets across the city are flooded with shoppers from dusk to dawn.

While the lively markets around Charminar and Madina Building are a must-visit for Eid shopping, several other markets across the city have gained importance for their durable merchandise available at a competitive price.

The Tolichowki market spread around the Tolichowki Road, Janakinagar, Hakimpet and Qutb Shahi Tombs is witnessing a huge footfall. “The area

was popular only for its eateries.

Now, umpteen stores of popular brands have come up here where one can buy designer clothes for men, women and children. Also, there are footwear, crockery and home furnishing stores,” said Syed Nadeem, owner of a store at Tolichowki.

The business hours here start from 3 pm and continue until the next morning. “People from IT corridor, Mehdipatnam, Banjara Hills, and Shaikpet visit the market during the festival,” said Mohd Shukoor, manager at a shop.
