Health Minister, T Harish Rao on Sunday urged people to ensure they wear well-fitting masks during the ongoing Omicron variant driven Covid-19 third wave in Telangana.

The Minister, while inaugurating a private hospital here in Chaitanyapuri on Sunday, drew people’s attention to the rising daily Covid infections across the country and reminded that following Covid appropriate behaviour was the only way to protect their family members during the Covid third wave.

The only way to avoid getting infected by Omicron variant

during this third wave is to wear well-fitting masks and avoid mass gatherings at any cost, he said. On noticing that several people who were attending the inaugural function of Pranahita private hospitals at Chaitanyapuri, near Dilsukhnagar were not wearing masks, Harish Rao also distributed masks.

“If you want to lead a happy life in the coming days with family members, then start wearing masks, maintain physical distancing, avoid closed spaces that do not have proper ventilation and say no to mass gatherings for another 4 to 6 weeks,” Harish Rao said.
