To ensure the non-stop availability of vital Covid diagnostic tests and other healthcare facilities for the urban and rural poor during the Covid third wave in Telangana, the State government on Tuesday has decided to keep Basti Dawakhanas, Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and sub-centres open on Sundays.

All government initiatives including administration of Covid vaccines, rapid antigen tests for patients with Covid symptoms and distribution of home isolation kits will be made available from these healthcare facilities on

Sundays.

Health Minister, Harish Rao on Tuesday directed officials to ensure Covid vaccine administration continues to remain available to eligible beneficiaries in districts till 10 pm on a daily basis. “We must ensure doctors are available to Covid positive patients between 9 am and 4 pm and continue to administer vaccines till 10 pm on a daily basis. Anybody who tests Covid positive must be given home isolation kits. Efforts must be taken up to ensure their health status is tracked while they remain in isolation,” Harish Rao said.
