The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) will organise the Kaka Venkataswamy Memorial Telangana Inter-District T20 cricket tournament across Telangana from December 22.

“The objective of the tournament is to foster the development, promotion and systematic organisation of cricket at the mandal, town and district levels across the State of Telangana,” according to a media release.

The tournament will witness participation from all cricketing districts of Telangana, serving as a platform to nurture local talent and provide them competitive exposure.

It is informed that 90 per cent of matches will be played across Telangana



and 10 per cent at marquee grounds in Hyderabad.

A total of 29 teams will participate, featuring 55 matches, with all matches to be played in their respective district zones. All teams will assemble at Mahabubnagar District Cricket Association on December 22 at 1 pm for the inaugural ceremony.

Special cash prizes will be given to ‘player of the series’, ‘man of the match’, ‘best batter’, ‘best bowler’, ‘best fielder’ and ‘best all-rounder’.

The winner will get Rs 5 lakhs, the runner-up Rs 3 lakhs, while the third and fourth-placed teams will receive Rs 2 lakhs and Rs 1 lakh respectively.
