Former Minister and senior BRS MLA T Harish Rao slams Congress government for burdening people with a steep 50 per cent hike in RTC bus fares ahead of Bathukamma and Dasara festivals.

Calling out the Congress government for shameful exploitation, Harish Rao said the government was breaking the hearts of people at a time meant for celebration. “It is a crime to hike fares of all buses, including Palle Velugu, when lakhs of passengers are heading to their

hometowns,” he said.

He alleged that the hike was being enforced under the guise of “festival special buses”, even though the number of buses was not increased. He said the RTC was simply putting up special boards on regular buses and looting passengers.

“This is not service, it is a public nuisance. Does depriving people of Telangana of the joy of Bathukamma and Dasara, is what they call people’s governance?” he questioned.
