Finance Minister T Harish Rao said on Sunday that Telangana State was marching ahead on all fronts under the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.

“All sections of people in the State have been provided equal importance in welfare schemes and developmental programmes being implemented in the State in the last seven years. This was the main reason why leaders from other political parties were keen on joining Telangana Rashtra Samithi,” he said, after welcoming BJP ward members Shagarla Manisha Kumar, Shagarla Rajitha Srinivas, Kanika Jagabai Naresh, and Karatlapelli Srinivas from Saidabad of Jammikunta rural mandal into the ruling party at Jammikunta.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said the fact that leaders from other parties were joining TRS was a classic example of developmental programmes and welfare schemes being implemented by the Chief Minister.

Stating that he could not fathom the reasons behind BJP candidate for Huzurabad by-election Eatala Rajender’s decision to resign from the State Assembly. the Minister said while the construction of double bedroom houses in all constituencies was completed, Rajender failed to even start the construction of houses in Huzurabad.

“It is ironical that Rajender who speaks about self-respect should join the saffron party that was selling public sector undertakings to big industrialists,” he said and appealed to the people to ensure the victory of TRS candidate Gellu Srinivas Yadav.

TRS MLA Ramesh, who was also present, said Telangana was the only State that was providing Rs 10,000 financial assistance to farmers under Rythu Bandhu scheme and Rs 5 lakh insurance facility to the kin of deceased farmers under Rythu Bima. Development of Saidabad was possible only by ensuring the victory of Gellu Srinivas Yadav, he added.

MLC Pochampalli Srinivas Reddy, Warangal DCCB Chairman Marneni Ravinder Rao, KDCC Bank vice-chairman Pingili Ramesh and others participated in the programme.

Finance Minister T Harish Rao on Sunday said except for hiking prices of commodities, the BJP government at the Centre didn’t even consider introducing schemes to help the poor, leave alone

implementing.

“The TRS government, on the other hand, is known for its concern for the welfare of the poor. Besides increasing pension amounts to Rs 2,016 from Rs 200, Rs 1 lakh is being given to families from poorer sections for the marriage of their daughters under Kalyana Lakshmi. No State in the country was implementing such a scheme,” said the Minister who participated in TRS party workers Atmiya Sammelanam held at Penchikalpet of Elkathurthy mandal.

Speaking on the occasion, Harish Rao said BJP candidate for Huzurabad by-poll Eatala Rajender joined BJP party which has been increasing the prices of diesel, petrol and cooking gas. Setting aside the problem being faced by people due to the increase in prices of commodities, still, the BJP leader was seeking votes from the public, he said.

So, people should decide whether they want to exercise their votes for the BJP, which has been increasing the prices of essential commodities, or the TRS which has been implementing various schemes for the welfare of all sections of the society.

Noting that the TRS government would be in power for the next two years and four months, the Minister promised to solve all the problems of the people of Huzurabad if TRS candidate Gellu Srinivas Yadav is elected.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has already announced that Dalit Bandhu benefit would be provided to all Dalits in the State. So, Dalit families need not doubt about the implementation of the scheme. Initially, Kalyana Lakshmi scheme was also provided to only Dalits. Later, it was extended to BCs and other communities, he said.

Talking about the construction of double bedroom houses (2BHKs), the Minister said that the Chief Minister had sanctioned 4,000 houses to each Minister for their constituencies. While all the Ministers have completed houses, not even a single house was constructed in Huzurabad constituency under Eatala’s leadership.

Though scores of people do not have permanent houses to stay in the constituency, Rajender was least bothered about the construction of the pakka houses. How Rajender, who failed as a Minister, could complete by sitting in opposition benches, Harish questioned.
