BRSLP deputy leader T Harish Rao has been placed under house arrest at his Kokapet residence ahead of his visit to Warangal on Thursday.

He was scheduled to meet students of Government Polytechnic College in Warangal and extend solidarity to their agitation for withdrawal of GO 97.

Police arrived at Harish Rao’s residence on Thursday morning ahead of his

departure and informed him that he was being placed under house arrest as he had no permission to participate in the protest. BRS leaders and activists also reached the spot, leading to heated arguments.

The BRSLP deputy leader was also expected to interact with students and address the gathering on the government’s proposed merger of polytechnic education with Young India Skill University.
