BRS Legislative Party (BRSLP) deputy leader T Harish Rao on Thursday launched a broadside at Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for lowering the standards of politics with his abusive remarks. Stating that the Chief Minister’s recent remarks after his US tour had shocked civilised society and tarnished Telangana’s cultural dignity, he said Revanth Reddy was resorting to abusive language to deflect attention from the government’s failures over the past two years.

Addressing a press conference here, he questioned the Chief Minister’s frustration over people fondly referring to BRS president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao as the ‘Father of Telangana’. He said the BRS chief had not only realised the dream of a separate State of Telangana, but also transformed it with several initiatives during the 10-year BRS rule.

“Unable to make any impactful

contribution to Telangana, either during the statehood movement or after becoming the Chief Minister, Revanth Reddy is attempting to degrade the monumental role of KCR. Instead of upholding values in public life, this Chief Minister is indulging in language that lowers the prestige of Telangana,” he said, urging intellectuals and civil society to speak out and condemn the remarks that demean the Telangana Statehood movement.

The BRS leader ridiculed Revanth Reddy’s claims of transforming the agriculture sector and said the Congress government had instead diluted or delayed key farmer welfare measures, including loan waivers, Rythu Bharosa payments and bonuses for fine paddy varieties. Power supply to farmers had been restricted to 12 hours, he said, adding that the government was neglecting issues such as fee reimbursement, unemployment and pending dues to retired employees.
