Senior BRS MLA and former Minister T Harish Rao slammed the Congress government for discontinuing existing welfare schemes and failing to implement its poll promises. He said the Congress had reduced governance to empty rhetoric, shelving both BRS-era schemes and its own guarantees from the election manifesto.
Taking to X, Harish Rao criticised the discontinuation of the bonus for fine variety paddy, Indiramma Atmeeya Bharosa, LPG gas subsidy and the promised Rajiv Yuva Vikasam. He said even the sheep distribution scheme for Yadava and Kuruma communities, initiated by the previous BRS government, was shelved, despite the Congress promising to resume it within 100 days of taking office.
Referring to a
protest by Yadava and Kuruma community members who drove their sheep into Gandhi Bhavan on Monday, the former Minister said this was a sign of growing unrest. He slammed the government for failing to either implement the sheep distribution scheme or at least refund demand drafts collected from beneficiaries.
“Revanth Reddy is good at making lofty speeches, but his administration has failed to turn them into real action. Governance is not harassing political opponents, Revanth Reddy,” he said, stating that the Congress had become the brand ambassador of betrayal.
Harish Rao also warned the Congress leadership to act before mass public anger translated into a full-fledged revolt over unfulfilled promises.
