BRS leader Dr RS Praveen Kumar said former minister T Harish Rao was served notices for questioning the corruption by the Congress government.

Addressing media persons in Kagaznagar on Tuesday, Praveen Kumar accused the government of serving notices to Harish Rao only because he questioned the corruption and atrocities being committed by the government.

Mocking the government for issuing notices only during elections, he termed the notices baseless and said the government was trying to implicate and arrest him by any means by registering fake cases.

The Congress government slapped notices to the former minister for opposing the exploitation of Godavari water under the guise of Banakacherla project, for questioning the injustice being done to Telangana in denying legitimate share of Krishna river water and for exposing

how a female IAS officer was used as a pawn in media reports aired on NTV and ABN news channels, he said, also stating that Harish Rao was targeted for speaking about the scam committed by Srujan Reddy in submitting tenders for Naini coal block and for talking about the land scam worth Rs 5 lakh crore involving 9,000 acres.

He demanded that if the Congress and the police had courage, they should constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to conduct inquiries into scams committed by Srujan Reddy and Rohin Reddy.

Daring the government to book cases against owners of the two news channels, he asked the government to constitute another SIT for probing deaths of 120 students studying in government residential schools.

He added that Revanth Reddy was taking revenge against former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.
