BRS Legislature Party deputy leader T Harish Rao demanded an immediate inquiry into the alleged poor quality of uniforms supplied to government school students. He questioned the Revanth Reddy government’s claims of providing world-class education.

Harish Rao said uniforms had not reached some schools, while those supplied had incorrect measurements, loose stitching and colours that faded after washing. Though students were supposed to receive two sets, many had not even received one complete

set, he said.

He accused the government of ignoring Telangana’s handloom workers and procuring poor-quality uniforms from large corporate suppliers. Local handloom units should have been given priority, he said, arguing that the decision had harmed both students and weavers.

“The government has left students with substandard uniforms while depriving handloom workers of employment,” Harish Rao alleged, demanding a thorough investigation into the procurement process.
