Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Legislature Party deputy leader T Harish Rao urged the Telangana DGP to take immediate action against those allegedly circulating fake news clips wrongly attributing statements to him against the police department. He said misleading content was being deliberately spread to provoke the police and mislead the public.

Calling it a direct attack on

institutional credibility, Harish Rao questioned whether the misinformation would be allowed to continue unchecked and sought clarity on the selective silence of the police, as those responsible were enjoying political protection from Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, who also holds the Home Ministry. He demanded strict and prompt action against those responsible for spreading fake news about the department.
