BRS deputy floor leader T Harish Rao criticised the Congress government over reported difficulties faced by farmers in procuring urea due to the new app-based distribution system which created widespread distress.

Referring to protests by farmers in Yadadri Bhongir district and other parts of the State, he questioned whether the government was aware of the hardships being faced by cultivators.

Taking to X, Harish Rao said farmers were once again being forced

into uncertainty over fertiliser supply and asked if this was the change promised by the Congress during the Assembly elections.

He stated that the Congress government shifted urea sales to an app-based system, ignoring ground realities, particularly the challenges faced by small and illiterate farmers who do not own smartphones.

He termed it unfortunate that the government failed to anticipate the practical difficulties in implementing such a system.
