BRS deputy floor leader T Harish Rao held Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy directly responsible for the death of RTC driver Shankar Goud who succumbed to injuries after attempting suicide during the ongoing strike.

He said the Congress government’s apathy and failure to fulfil promises, led to the tragic incident.

Paying tributes to Shankar Goud, Harish Rao said the incident had deeply shaken the State and called it a result of

the government’s neglect of workers’ issues. “Revanth Reddy should bear full responsibility for this tragedy,” he said.

The BRS leader accused the Congress government of going back on its election promise to merge RTC employees into government service and resolve their demands.

He questioned the delay in implementation of promises made to RTC staff and warned that continued inaction could lead to more such incidents.
