Sangareddy: In a move to encourage the citizens to take Covid-19 vaccination, Akshaya Patra Foundation, which was having a mega kitchen at Kandi village in Sangareddy district, has started giving Rs 550 worth grocery kit, which was named as Rakshak Kit, to citizens who turn up at their vaccination centre at Kandi from Monday onwards.

On Mondy alone, the Akshyapatra management has given a vaccination to 205 persons. Though they were planning to continue the vaccination drive with grocery kits until February 4, PRO Sangappa said that they may consider extending it even further if they start receiving citizens.

Three corporate companies were funding Akshaya Patra to gift these groceries to citizens.

Eligible citizens, aged 18 and above can take a first or second dose. Elderly persons aged 60 and above can walk into the vaccination centre for a booster dose with their identity card. All such persons will be given the grocery and hygiene kit which contains one KG each black gram, ground nut, jaggery, redgram, rice, salt, turmeric and edible oil. In addition to them, the pack will have a soap and sanitiser bottle. The vaccination Centre will remain open for citizens from 10 am to 4pm on all working days.
