In a decisive move to protect the state's supply chain, the Telangana State Civil Supplies department here on Friday inducted around 28 highly trained police personnel from the elite Greyhounds and OCTOPUS units into its Enforcement and Vigilance wing to crack down on defaulting rice millers. Commissioner of Civil Supplies M. Stephen Raveendra chaired a high-level briefing at Civil Supplies Bhavan this morning to formally welcome the newly inducted commanders and outline their strategic mandate.

The state government spent around Rs.40,000 crore during the last procurement cycle to support the farming community.

Leveraging their

specialized training in tactical operations and surprise inspections, these deputed personnel will function as special task teams under the Enforcement and Vigilance wing.

They are slated for immediate dispatch across the state to conduct intensive field inspections of defaulting millers.

The Commissioner issued a stern warning that the department will enforce an absolute zero-tolerance policy against any misappropriation or operational defaults.

Authorities will immediately register criminal cases and execute stringent legal actions against any miller found violating government regulations.
