Finance Minister T Harish Rao on Friday said the government would construct separate sheds for goats, sheep and pigs on the outskirts of Kolgur village to keep the village clean and hygienic.

Stating that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao launched the 30-day action plan to transform Telangana villages into healthy habitations, Rao said healthy people will be more productive. Instructing the officials to identify a 2 acre piece of land on the outskirts of the village, Rao said he will make another visit to the village to ground the construction of sheds for livestock so that their villages would be free of the mosquito menace.

Addressing the villagers at Kolgur of Gajwel Mandal, the Minister said the State government was granting Rs 339 crore to each and every district per month exclusively for improving all the facilities at Gram Panchayats across the State.

Asking them to fill up abandoned wells and dilapidated structures to destroy all kinds of breeding grounds for mosquitos, Rao observed that only healthy people can achieve all round development.

Harish Rao urged women

to take up the responsibility of keeping the premises of their houses clean. He assured that all eligible persons would get double bedroom houses. Assuring that he would visit the village on September 25, Rao said that the administration will distribute jute bags to all the households to prevent use of the plastic bags.

He also called upon the villagers to put a collective effort to develop Kolgur into a model in development. During the 2018 Assembly election campaign, the villagers have urged the Harish Rao to adopt their village. Keeping his promise, Rao had made the visit and assured the people to develop the village on par with Ibrahimpur, which he adopted and developed into a model village. He also urged the villagers to join hands to put a collective effort to transform the village into a model.

MP, Medak Kotha Prabhakar Reddy and others took part. Rao and Prabhakar Reddy went around the village to examine the development.

Later, Rao has also participated in the 30-day action plan programme at Tadkapally village of Siddipet urban Mandal.
