Backward Classes Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar has asked officials to work in coordination across all departments to conduct the Bonalu celebrations even more grandly this year. 

He said the State government has allocated Rs.20 crore for the celebrations. He said that after the formation of Telangana state, the state government is giving utmost priority to the Bonalu festival, which stands as a symbol of Telangana's culture, traditions, beliefs, and spiritual



heritage.

He chaired a high-level review meeting with officials from various departments at the Dasarathi Auditorium in Dr. MCR HRD Institute in Jubilee Hills, regarding the arrangements for the Bonalu festivals to be conducted under the aegis of the Endowments Department in Hyderabad district, Ranga Reddy, and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts from July 16 to August 13. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that Bonalu is not just a religious festival, but a cultural symbol that reflects the soul of Telangana.
