Six wagons of a goods train carrying coal derailed at Chitgidda station on Secunderabad and Vikarabad section on Wednesday morning.

According to South Central Railway (SCR) officials, these wagons carrying coal were heading to Parli Thermal Power Plant in Maharashtra.
 
Authorities immediately swung into action and started to shifting the coal to other wagons. ”

Employees concerned are working on repairing the damaged track and would rectify it by today afternoon or evening, officials said.

Gajanan Mallya rushed to the spot, officials said. Major trains on Secunderabad -Vikarabad section would run with around one hour delay without any cancellation.

However, a passenger running between Hyderabad and Tandur has been cancelled on Wednesday, while few trains were partially cancelled between Vikarabad and Lingampally and Vikarabad and Shankarpalli.

On the other hand, derailed goods train will run to its destination with remaining wagons and six wagons will go for repair and maintenance, officials added
