Christians across Hyderabad solemnly observed Good Friday, commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Several churches in the city held special services with the day marked by reflective sessions, prayers and community gatherings.
St.Mary’s Basilica commenced the day with a passion play at 7am, followed by a mass commemorating the Jesus Christ’s passion at 6pm. Other churches including the CSI Wesley Church at
Clock Tower, St.Joseph’s Cathedral in Gunfoundry, St.Geroge’s Church in Abids Road organised day-long prayer sessions and reflections.
All the services were conducted in multiple languages including in English, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam, catering to the diverse congregation. At various churches, volunteers organised stalls offering cool water, butter milk and juices to the devotees, who spent fasting throughout the day.
