GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL) has officially commissioned its state-of-the-art Cargo Terminal 2, marking a major milestone in the airport?s growth as a premier global logistics hub, a GHIAL press release on Tuesday said.
Spanning 16,864 square metres, the next-generation facility is engineered to meet surging domestic and international demand. It commences operations with an initial handling capacity of 50,000 metric tonnes per annum, with dedicated expansion areas
designed to double that capacity to 100,000 metric tonnes.
A flagship feature of the new terminal is its large, fully temperature-controlled pharma and perishable zone. Equipped with advanced temperature cut-off systems and continuous monitoring technology, it ensures end-to-end cold-chain reliability.
The terminal also guarantees streamlined processing, faster regulatory clearances, and significantly reduced cargo dwell times for express consignments and general cargo.
