Volunteers of Greater Hyderabad Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (GHSPCA) on Friday said they rescued six Indian Roller (Palapitta) birds in Hyderabad with a team of 20 members in four spots.

One bird was seized while it was being sold to a person at Nayeb Pets shop in Abids for Rs 3,000 and three



more birds were seized at Tadbund Hanuman Temple, and one each was recovered at Mahakali Police Station limits, Secunderabad and at Astalaxmi temple, RK Puram.

All the birds were dehydrated and stressed and were currently under observation. Once they recover, they would be released back to the nature, the GHSPCA said.
