Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will conduct the third edition of Udvasana, a sacred waste collection drive, at 12 collection centres across six zones—Charminar, Secunderabad, Rajendranagar, Shamshabad, Khairatabad and Golconda—on July 18.

A press statement on Wednesday said the sacred waste collections include old deity photographs, damaged frames, worn-out idols, pooja items, calendars and other sacred materials.

The GHMC said it has identified new collection centres,

including seven temples in Ameerpet circle, Sri Venkateshwara Swamy Devasthanam in Moosarambagh circle, Sri Venkateshwara Swamy temple in Attapur circle, Kashi Bugga Shiva temple in Badangpet circle, Sitaram Bagh temple in Goshamahal circle, and Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Devalaya Nirmana Samsthan in Musheerabad circle.

Citizens have been asked to deposit the sacred waste between 8.30 am and 11 am at the listed locations, and no items will be accepted after 11 am, the press release added.
