GHMC razes seven illegal structures

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) razed seven encroachments on Tuesday.

A gate in Haribowli, a compound wall at Indira Nagar in Quthbullapur, unauthorised construction of a penthouse at Moulai and encroachments near Parkash Nagar Metro station were razed. A room constructed near a nala at Mallikarjun Nagar in RC Puram was also demolished.The civic body also removed encroachments near YSR Park in Ramnagar and Krishnakanth Park in Yosufguda. Following high court’s instructions, the washrooms at Pot Market in Secunderabad were also



demolished.

According to GHMC officials, the civic body is taking up demolition of unauthorised constructions and removal of encroachments on footpaths and road margins on a regular basis. “A special drive has been taken up for the removal of bottlenecks on nalas and drains and it will continue apart from demolition of dilapidated structures,” said GHMC chief city planner S Devender Reddy . The demolitions are being carried out after serving notices to the houses and giving them time to vacate, officials informed.
