GHMC prepares for monsoon rains

GHMC commissioner B Janardhan Reddy held a review meeting at the GHMC head office with engineering officials to deploy emergency monsoon teams in identified locations from Friday. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, Hyderabad, southwest monsoon is set to enter Telangana by June 5.

He also directed the Engineering wing to take up social Audit under any circumstances and to personally monitor all the works which are being taken up in their jurisdictions and should not



give any scope for the criticism with regard to works with quality of works and to involve the citizens of their areas about the works taking up to fell the moral responsibility.

The Commissioner has asked the engineers to keep sufficient pumping machines ready for utilization wherever the need arises in emergency situation and also act as per the provisions of 2016 C&D waste, solid waste management rules and plastic related issues.
