Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation’s (GHMC) Enforcement Vigilance and Disaster Management (EVDM) on Monday launched a special drive to clear flexies and banners across the city. It will be continued till Friday. During the drive, the EVDM personnel will be clearing the banners and other paraphernalia without levying any penalty.

But post Friday, penalties will be slammed on offenders for putting unauthorised flexis and banners through Central Enforcement Cell app, tweeted EVDM

The EVDM has already issued 1088 e-challans for different violations including litter etc., worth nearly Rs 1.5 crore compounding fee since last month.

Of these, about Rs 15 lakh penalty amount has already been paid by the offenders. MA&UD Minister KT Rama Rao had launched the Central Enforcement (CE) Cell and the special software at EVDM office on October 10, a release said.
