Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has launched post-rain cleaning operations in areas affected by flooding along the Musi river.

With floodwaters receding, municipal teams are working round the clock to restore normalcy in low-lying localities.

According to GHMC officials, multiple teams have been deployed for desilting drains, removing silt from Musi-side habitations, and clearing waterlogged

stretches. Pump sets have been pressed into service to drain stagnant water from vulnerable pockets.

To contain health risks, vector-control measures are also underway. The GHMC said in a post on X that “spraying and bleaching are being done” in affected neighbourhoods. The civic body further added that “commissioner RV Karnan is monitoring the flood-affected Musi areas and guiding teams to ensure citizens' safety and comfort.”
