Preparations are underway to administer the Covid-19 vaccine in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits for people who have been categorised as high risk groups. A total of 32 vaccination centres have been proposed by the civic body where people falling in the category will be vaccinated free of cost.

The GHMC along with the Department of Labour and Civil Supplies Department will identify the beneficiaries. “As on date we have the list of all the hawkers. Other beneficiaries like people working in rythu bazars, grocery shops, liquor marts etc. will be shortlisted and identified with the help of line departments,” said a GHMC official. GHMC officials decided to prepare a list

of around 3.2 lakh beneficiaries who will be vaccinated in these centres.

The beneficiaries will be given coloured tokens and printing of these tokens is underway. “The token will be printed in 10 colours and distributed category wise- LPG delivery staff, petrol pump workers etc. Beneficiaries falling in different categories will receive a different coloured token,” said the official.

The beneficiaries need to show the coloured token at the vaccination centre to take the jab. “After receiving the first jab, the beneficiary will receive a text message and the due process should be followed for the second jab,” he added.
