There has been a good response from people in parting their land required for taking up different development works and in opting for TDR in exchange of land, Mayor B Rammohan said.

This positive approach on part of the citizens was reducing the financial burden on Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) exchequer. So far, about Rs 250 crore worth TDRs were issued, he said.

The Mayor said in order to provide better infrastructure facilities, the civic body was developing 37 missing link roads in first phase with an estimated cost of Rs 313 crore. Out of the 37 missing link roads, 10 works were completed and works were under progress for another 18 roads.

The Mayor who inspected different works in Seriligampally Zone on Saturday said that to ease traffic congestion on main roads, missing link roads were being

developed, specially connecting the IT and business corridors. Apart from developing missing link roads, construction of flyovers and underpasses was taken up under SRDP.

During his inspection, Rammohan proposed link road from Nallgandla main road at Ratnadeep to Mumbai old highway connecting with 100 ft width for a distance of 2 km. With this link road, the travel distance will be reduced up to 2.5 km, he said.

Later, the Mayor visited the proposed site to provide missing link road of 2.10 km length from Serilingampally zonal office to Chandanagar railway track. This link road is being constructed by HRDCL with the cost of Rs 11 crores and out of the 2.10 km road length, 1.75 km length was completed. Similarly, 1 km road length from Chandanagar railyway track to My home is to be taken-up, the Mayor added.
