Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has taken up demolition of ongoing constructions made after cut-off date which are not eligible for regularisation under BR. On Tuesday, the corporation pulled down as many as 23 old and dilapidated structures in different parts of the Hyderabad city. It also identified more buildings that needed immediate attention. Joint inspections were also carried out by the Engineering and Town Planning staff and dilapidated buildings were identified. The



buildings which have been identified as unsafe would be demolished by August 6.
A maximum of 4 buildings were demolished in Uppal in Circle 2 followed by another 3 in Bholakpur in Circle 9 A. Two buildings each at Chaderghat, Gowlipura, Begum Bazar, Serilingampally and Chilkalguda were pulled down by the GHMC. The demolition squads also attended Circles 5 and 8 and pulled down six buildings at Chudi Bazar, Langar House, Nampally, Goshamahal, Amberpet and New Nallakunta respectively.
