The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation is now focusing on property tax collection.

The civic body has announced Early Bird scheme offering five per cent rebate for building owners, who pay property tax before April 30. Till Monday evening, officials said nearly Rs 70 crore property tax was collected.

Further, with the election related duties completed, instructions have been issued



to the bill collectors to focus on property tax collection. Among the 30 circles, Serilingampally circle (Rs 672 lakh), Jubilee Hills (Rs 620 lakhs) and Khairatabad circle (Rs 505.35 lakh) were leading the chart in property tax collection.

The civic body officials said all the circle offices, Mee-Seva and e-Seva centres were accepting the tax payments.
