GHMC collects over Rs.160 cr in four days

Scrapping of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 notes by the Centre has hugely benefited government institutions. Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has collected over Rs 160 crore in four days. Government has permitted people to pay utility bills and civic taxes in banned currency.

availing the opportunity people in large numbers came forward to pay the property tax, fee under Land Regularisation Scheme and other charges and arrears.Government has extended the deadline by another 10 days. The board has also set up counters near banks to encourage consumers.
