A tourist from Uttar Pradesh was attacked by a ganja addict near the historic Macca Masjid in Old City, leaving him with head injuries and cuts on his hand. Police swiftly apprehended the accused and launched an investigation into the incident. 

According to the police, the victim, identified as 45-year-old Jitendra Kumar from Uttar Pradesh arrived in Hyderabad recently and took up tailoring job recently in Ramnagar. 

He along with a group of other friends visited Charminar and were sightseeing. While he



was near the mosque premises, the accused picked up a stone and struck him on the head without any provocation.

The tourist sustained bleeding injuries and was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Doctors said his condition was stable after receiving medical attention. Police personnel rushed to the spot after receiving information and detained the accused. 

During the preliminary inquiry, police found that the man was addicted to ganja and is suspected to have attacked the tourist while under its influence.
