Four Telangana Youths Stranded at Russian Military Camp

Four youths from Telangana are stranded at a Russian military camp after travelling to Russia on the promise of jobs as helpers and support staff.

Their families have appealed to the Telangana and Central governments to intervene and facilitate their safe return to India. 

According to the families, Bhukya Ravinder, Bhukya Ashok and Megavath Prakash, natives of the erstwhile Nizamabad district, along with Mohammad Afzal Khan, a resident of Kamareddy, travelled to Russia around six months ago after being promised jobs as helpers, cleaners, security guards and other support staff.

The families alleged that each of the youths paid around Rs 3 lakh to an agent for the promised jobs and arrangements to



travel to Russia. In a video shared by one of the youths on social media, he claimed that they were being kept in a forest and were tied to trees when they attempted to leave the area. 

He further stated that after reaching the country, they were taken to a forest area following a journey of nearly 12 hours.

He told that were provided with guns and subjected to military training, despite having travelled to Russia for civilian jobs. The youths contacted their family members over the phone and expressed concern that they could be sent to areas near the Russia-Ukraine war zone. 

Their families are now worried about their safety and have sought immediate intervention from the authorities.
