The members of United Forum for the Release of Political Prisoners-Telangana on Saturday demanded that the State government immediately release all political prisoners in jails, especially Adivasi prisoners apart from dropping all illegal UAPA cases filed against leaders of mass organizations, intellectuals, and minority political prisoners.

They urged the government to immediately withdraw illegal cases registered against Telangana movement activists and repeal the UAPA law.

The forum members staged a protest at Indira Park on Saturday in support of their demands.

Prof. G. Laxman, President, CLC, Telangana, underscored the need to raise our voices against these illegal and unjust UAPA case detentions and demand that the government release them.

Along with that, there is a need to demand the governments of other states, including Andhra Pradesh, as well as the Central government, to release political prisoners.
