Former TDP Telangana president and former Minister L Ramana had formally joined TRS in the presence of the party working president and Minister KT Rama Rao at Telangana Bhavan here on Monday. Rama Rao handed over the primary membership of the party to Ramana and welcomed him into the party fold.
Ministers Koppula Eeshwar, Gangula Kamalakar and other TRS leaders congratulated Ramana and welcomed him with warm wishes.
Ramana along with his followers will be inducted into TRS at a meeting scheduled to be chaired by TRS President and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on July
16.
Ramana who served in TDP for over 30 years, was working as the president of its Telangana unit after the State formation. He had earlier served as a Minister during TDP regime in erstwhile Andhra Pradesh and also represented the Karimnagar Lok Sabha constituency in the Parliament.
However, Ramana had submitted his resignation to TDP national president N Chandrababu Naidu recently, informing that in the wake of changing political equations in Telangana State, he had decided to join the TRS and remain closer to people of Telangana State as well as participate in its progress.
