Former Manthani MLA Chandrupatla Ram Reddy passed away on Tuesday morning while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Hyderabad. He had been suffering from age-related health problems. He was 80.

A native of Khammampalli village in Mutharam mandal, Ram Reddy began his political career as a



village sarpanch and later served as Mutharam mandal MPP.

In 1994, he was elected as the MLA from Manthani constituency on a TDP ticket.

He is survived by two sons. While the elder son is settled abroad, the younger son, Sunil Reddy, has entered politics and is associated with the BJP.
