Senior TRS leader and former Karimnagar Mayor S Ravinder Singh, who filed nomination for Karimnagar Local Authorities Constituency as an independent candidate, resigned from the party on Thursday.
He explained the reasons for his decision in a two page letter sent to party president and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.

Ravinder Singh, who had aspired for a TRS MLC ticket, filed nomination for the Karimnagar LAC as an independent as the party had denied him a ticket. Speaking to reporters after filing nomination, Ravinder Singh expressed confidence that he would get the party’s ticket stating that anything could happen overnight. However, within a few hours, he resigned from the party.

In the letter addressed to the Chief Minister, Singh said he decided to resign as the Chief

Minister failed to fulfill his promise of giving the MLC ticket to him. “Sir, on a number of occasions, you promised to give MLC ticket to me. When I was prepared to contest from the graduates’ constituency MLC, you gave a ticket to Swamy Goud.

I worked for his victory by respecting your decision. You had again promised me to provide an opportunity after completion of Swamy Goud’s term but in vain. You have not given me an appointment when I tried to meet you.”

Moreover, there was no respect for original Telangana protagonists who had been associated with the Chief Minister right from the beginning. Some of the leaders, who never participated in separate State agitation, were insulting senior leaders, Ravinder Singh claimed.
